For those of you who took my advice on UXG a few months ago, when it was at 0.45 a share, you're all doing pretty well right now, aint Ya! I bought 10,000 shares and had a rough ride at first, like I predicted, but I am happy to report UXG is now $2.50 and climbing.
Sorry folks, don't jump on it now.
The time to buy was when it was a bargain. Not to say it's not now, I just prefer stocks in companies that are about to make a big move like UXG was. They had just struck a new mineral reserve and early reports showed it had the possibility of being a Klondike mine. 0.45 per share was a bargain with a company that owns or leases over a 1,000 acres of land for mining!
Anyway, too late. Good news is I have 1 more for you to look at. And remember, I'm not a broker, my advice is my own opinion. I research the hot trends of what people are buying in the market place, find one that's selling like ice cream to Floridians and buy the company stock.
I use my own simple system. Not too much of a brainer here. When choosing a stock I observe the following guidelines:
Has the company been in business over 10 years? Over ten years is a stable company not likely to shut their doors.
What are the Annual Earnings? If they made 10 dollars in profits, it's not a bad thing. they still paid dividends. I'm only looking to see if they are in the red.
Are there any legal issues, law suits? Avoid this stock.
What was the peak per share? I'm looking for a 25% difference from today. But this relies heavily upon their producing a hot new product launch.
How long ago did the peak price per share hit? I'm looking for within a year.
Why did it decline? I'm looking for the recent stock crash as the only reason why it dipped.
Like I said, not too much of brainer and anyone can do it. Just don't over invest in one company. With that said, I'm about to over invest in Garmin simply because it is a type of stock I do not normally purchase. It's Expensive.
Not that it is out of reach at $21.00, It's just not my usual market. I like lower end stocks that allow me to spread my investment dollars around a lot further. But, Garmin is about to blow up and I want to be there from the beginning.
Many of you have probably heard of their GPS systems. I'm referring to Global Positioning Satellites. If you haven't heard of these, you're probably still peddling a bicycle. Everybody has GPS in their cars today and one new company has invented some software that turns the GPS into an anti traffic ticket machine. (I wish they were on the exchange) You simply download the program into your GPS for about 10 bucks and suddenly you have Radar Detection that shows where the police have set up miles in front of you. You also get pin point locations of those nice new cameras cities all over the US are installing on top of the red lights. You know the red light you go through at 1 in the morning when no one else is around? They put cameras on them to mail you a ticket!
With Garmin being the biggest of all the GPS companies it's likely their stock will begin to soar over the next few months and, dare I say, Double? Watch for Make Your Car Invisible To Radar And Traffic Lights to make a move with Garmin. But don't wait too long.
